Yes. Much of the work, such as web development, graphics, content and social media, can be done from anywhere. Some opportunities, like running programs or supporting library services, may need you to be on site, and we'll make that clear before you're matched.
The LVC team reviews every submission. We compare the task a library needs done with volunteers' skills and availability, then introduce libraries and volunteers who are a good fit. It's done by people, not an algorithm.
It depends on the task the library needs done and on your availability. Some placements are a single project, others run over several months. We agree this with both sides before work begins.
Volunteers contribute their skills at no cost to the library. If a library is able to offer a stipend or cover expenses, that is arranged directly between the library and the volunteer.
